TITOS HANGING AROUND

I was walking down the street when I noticed that Tito, my neighbor’s black German Shepherd was hanging around, sniffing gutters and barking. Most of the time, Tito gets let go without his leash and is fine. He’s friendly and the only real problem he has is that he licks people too much. I had no idea I’d have to be calling a personal injury attorney later and asking about dog bites. Tito snarled at me and I backed off, knowing better than to taunt a dog, but then he lunched forward and snapped at my forearm. His jaws sank right in and I had to throw him off. He scampered away, whimpering, but I had to snatch up my cell phone and call for an ambulance. They stitched up my forearm and I called the police and they’re investigating the whole thing, but according to my attorney, legally, since the dog bit me, they have to put him to sleep. I feel bad about the whole thing, especially since my neighbor had kids and they loved playing with Tito, but, then again, I don’t want him attacking them suddenly. I still don’t know what triggered it in him. Normally, he’s just so friendly and well behaved.
