I was living back at home with my parents after graduating from college. Mom and Dad decided they wanted to move to one of those over fifty communities. The area where they were going to move to had many activities for people their age and they were excited about their choice. I knew it was time for me to make a decision where I would live. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to rent an apartment or condo or buy a house. I hated looking through the newspapers and calling all the places listed. When I did call, I wasn’t even sure what were the best questions to ask. This would be my first experience in finding a place to live. It was so time consuming and confusing. My parents suggested I use a Chicago real estate broker to help me in my search. That made the chore so much easier. My broker was able to find out what was available in the neighborhood of my choice and discussed whether buying or renting was right for me. He took me to look at a lot of places in many areas and explained the benefits of each one. When I finally decided on buying a house, he handled all the details. Now both my parents and I are happy with our new living arrangements.
