PUBLIC INTOXICATION

I was picked up by the police and charged with public intoxication while we were hanging out in the parking lot and tailgating before last week’s playoff game. I hadn’t even been drinking, so I hired the number one PI attorney in Dallas to defend me in my appeal. There had been a pretty big ruckus going on a little ways down in the same row of cars, which is why the police had been called in the first place, but the people who were fighting had already made up and been on their merry way by the time that the cops got there. Now I’m not implying that none of the guys that I was with were drunk or that we weren’t being a little bit rowdy or out of control, but we weren’t hurting anybody. I guess the officers had felt a little hassled by the call so they figured that they had to do something, or that someone had to get punished for them having to come out, so they gathered us up and took us all in. All of us were charged with being drunk in public and disorderly conduct, and one of my friends was getting hit with resisting arrest. It was a bad day, but I’m not going to let the abuse of police authority affect my record, I’m going to do something about it.
