Does anyone know where to find an authentic antique Oriental rug in Chicago? A good friend of mine from grammar school is relocating form the west coast back to her hometown of Chicago and asked me to check out an antique Oriental rug in Chicago for her. I don’t know much about them, as that is not my style. I know she cannot travel here just to look at rugs. She has so many other things to work on to make her move complete. So I volunteered to do the footwork and send her all the information I could gather regarding these rugs. I see many people with them in their homes but maybe they just aren’t authentic ones. Can you even tell which is authentic or not? I know she doesn’t want just a cheap copy of an antique Oriental rug, but how does one find an honest Oriental dealer? What are the telltale signs of a good antique Oriental rug? Is there such a place as an antique Oriental rug store in Chicago? With Chicago being so large, I hope I can find a reliable one. It will be a good education for me and a big help to my friend.
