COMMUNITY HOSPITAL

Northwestern Memorial Hospital has been our hospital of choice for the last 20 years. Not that we wanted it to be that way. We would rather that nobody be sick, but they were. And we first took them to a community hospital, but after not getting good treatment, we decided to go to a teaching hospital. We looked at several hospitals and then decided that this one would have the best doctors and best facilities. The first person we had to take there was my father. He was having a really bad time at the community hospital and had gotten sick from the treatments he was getting. The community hospital didn't seem to know any better. They just gave him the shot and sent him home. I picked him up. He was already feeling the effects of the shot, and was having trouble keeping his balance and was sick by the time he got home. I felt so badly for him. I couldn't do anything except try to keep him comfortable. That was the last straw. We made up our minds right then to get him to a better hospital, and then we eventually decided on Northwestern. He immediately got better treatment and procedures. He was happier.
