CITY OF CHICAGO
When I was diagnosed with diabetes, my quest for diabetic supplies went like any other of my quests for sharp clothing, jeans colored something other than blue or black, or that quest I went on for the best ham and turkey sandwich on the northwest side of Chicago. I took my time, used what was at hand at first, and never gave up. Also, most importantly of all, I looked for a bargain. I have pairs of jeans that are green, white, tan, brown, gray, and even purple. I was in and out of every sandwich joint on the north side of the city, let alone just the northwest side. And I’ve been to every trendy clothing store and every brand new department store I could find in the city and within a fifteen-mile radius. I know that I’m going to get what I want so long as I look long and hard enough, but I also want a deal. If there’s one thing that I learned from my mother is that I can spot a bargain. You never have to pay a full price on anything, not even diabetic supplies. Anyone that does either doesn’t care that they’re getting ripped off or doesn’t know what they’re doing.
